The production of Jewels of the Jungle was made possible with a grant from the Informal Science Section of the National Science Foundation. The NSF ESPCOR program of the State of Montana also contributed to the making of the film. Private sponsors including the Pam and Bill Phillips Foundation provided funding to complete the final editing and formatting of the production for availability for public broadcasting. Individuals throughout the world, including the governments of Peru, Bolivia and Australia allowed filming to be done in their respective countries.
